Oh the woes of auto repair

Some may recall that I was in a minor accident the Monday before Halloween- that's right, way back in October. I was rear ended by a cab driver.... and I have yet to get my car back.

It took a month for the insurance company (Aequicap, booooo) to send me a the money to fix the car, but they finally did and so at the beginning of December I dropped of my car at Ti's Auto Body and Repair Shop.

I finally got through to Vonda (my claims adjuster) yesterday and was complaining about how ridiculously long this is taking and she told me that they've had the check for a while but didn't have a form to release funds to the shop (and why didn't she tell me this earlier?), and she was blaming Ti saying that he was being very difficult to deal with.

I'm inclined not to believe her because I don't think she's ever answered the phone when I've called her. She's never returned any of my messages, I've finally taken to talking to the next available representative and being mean to them so they will transfer me directly to Vonda. Plus Ti is going to give me a new battery for free because he feels bad about all this taking so long.

So this morning I dropped by Ti's auto body shop to sign a form that he could fax in to the insurance company and to pick up the stupid ticket that I had in my car that I was planning on getting back within a week when I first dropped it off on Dec 2nd.

So I show up and he tells me that he doesn't actually have a form like that, and asks if I'll help him make one because he's not very good with computers.

I think this is a little strange, but I say sure, I figure I can give him some pointers. Then I am even more surprised when he gets up an motions for me to sit down at the desk. So I opened up Word and typed him up a nice little form that he can use in the future.

Very strange.

On the plus side- I did see my car and it looks as good as new.
