I fought the law and the law won

Question: What happens when your roommate pops up on your g-chat and says "why are you getting subpoenaed?"

Answer: You have a mild heart attack and start frantically thinking about what you might have done to get in trouble.

Luckily all I did was drive to work one day and happen to be involved in/witness to an accident. But it did take several minutes to get to this point. So here's some advice for anyone out there- if you're going to tell someone that they got subpoenaed, you should be able to tell them right away why. Try to avoid having to go into the other room to search for the paper that had been taped to the front door.

I've never been subpoenaed before, what a new adventure.
