Take Me Out To The Ball Game

I have a friend who broke his leg just a few days after me (running after a cab and falling off the curb- I'm sorry, but my story is sooooo much cooler). He left the house sans walking boot this weekend and his broken leg gave out, and he fell once again..... this time breaking his arm.

This got me to thinking "how often does one injury lead directly to another?"

Then, this led me to recall one of my favorite Bees/Buzz/Whatever that baseball team in SLC is called, game memories. At some point in the game, (this was some years ago, so the details are just a tad hazy) a fly ball flew into the stands just over our heads. Excitement spread through our section at the thought of catching the ball, but then a bit of commotion arose as we realized that a boy a few rows back had been hit in the face by said ball.

I'm not sure exactly what happened to him, but they left the game pretty soon after. The girl next to me seemed to know him, (I'm guessing she was in 5th or 6th grade) so I asked her about him. He was in her class at school and the reason that he could not catch the ball that was hurtling towards his face was that he had fallen out of a tree a few weeks earlier.....................

and broken both of his arms.

Moral of the story, only go to baseball games if you have at least one mobile arm to protect your face.
