That's right, I'm a big huge sports fan. Well not really, but last night I went to my first Major League Baseball game- go Nationals! And tonight I went to the DC United vs. Real Salt Lake game, and right now I'm watching the Jazz game.
It's been a lot of fun. I had a hot dog at the baseball game. The Nationals won by hitting a home run in the bottom of the ninth, pretty exciting as far as baseball games go. My friend couldn't understand why they didn't keep playing after the home run, and wouldn't accept my explanation that there wasn't any point to continuing because they had already won- she just wanted them to win by more.
Also, there were fireworks at the end which was very cool. And it just happend to be free visor night as well as armed forces opening night and the nice looking men in uniforms singing to me didn't hurt one bit.
The soccer game was lots of fun too. You might think th
at my friend's toe being spit on from the upper level was the highlight of the game, but it wasn't. It was the explosive beer goals. And United scored 4 goals, so there was a lot of beer flying about. No worries, I had my rain jacket on.
